Miscellaneous Structures
These three books each have a different type of structure. One uses a pop-up format. Another has an accordion fold with a pocket of inserts. The third uses an origami fold in its structure.

This book is created using printed outlines for a sequence of drawings showing a butterfly transforming from egg to caterpillar, to young butterfly. A panel that includes a pocket holds five varicolored "outfits" the butterfly can consider. The last image shows the mature butterfly in its chosen garb. A final panel then shows the anonymous quote, "When a butterfly flutters its wings in one part of the world, it can eventually cause a hurricane in another....". The completed book is 3.25" h x 2.5"w. Ribbon ties close the book.

The anonymous quote, "When a butterfly flutters its wings in one part of the world, it can eventually cause a hurricane in another..." opens this three panel structure. A tiny flying butterfly leads the eye across the second panel to a third spread that features a pop-up mature butterfly.
FPJM
This "farmer's purse" structure is handpainted, and each one is drawn individually. Thus there are slight variations from book to book though the images are painted using the same model. The scene is of a landscape with mountains in the background. Below the scene is the John Muir quote, "Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their freshness into you and the storms their energy while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn." The completed book is 3" square and has ribbon ties to close it.
